MEDWAY: Carolyn Houser

Image

In Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Carolyn E. Houser, age 44, sadly passed away at home on Nov. 29, 2024. She was the loving partner of Mark Duval. She also leaves three children, Madeline of Norton, and Olivia and Ryder of Myrtle Beach. She is survived by her older brother Nathan Houser, his wife Michelle and their three boys, Logan, Grant and Weston of Cohasset. In addition, she leaves her grieving parents, Lawrence and Patricia (Cooke) Houser of Norton as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins. Carolyn was born in Framingham and lived her early years in Medway (Mass.). She would always say that Medway was an idyllic place to grow up. She stayed connected through the Medway Historical Society. She enjoyed visiting her hometown and although she would marvel at the changes, her joy was in finding memories. Carolyn was a life-long learner. She loved history. As a hobby she would collect old used postcards and conduct research about people of past generations. Local history museums were favorite destinations when traveling. Carolyn enjoyed playing high school and college softball. She was a graduate of Mount St. Charles Academy in Rhode Island and Newbury College in Brookline, Mass., where she majored in hospitality management. Her most recent position was at Coastal Carolina University in Conway, S.C. There, her interest in sports and working with people came together. Shopping, especially for bargains, was a passion. She was an exceptionally generous person, giving friends and family little presents throughout the year and expecting nothing in return. Carolyn just wanted people to be happy. She will be greatly missed. Funeral services will be private under the direction of O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home in Taunton, Mass.
