Maureen Ellen (Burke) Sullivan, Moe, Mom, Grammy, GG, 82, of Medway died peacefully December 29 at home with her family by her side. She left us after a beautifully lived life, full of love and laughter. She leaves behind a legacy of resilience.
Born in Waltham, January 25,1942, the daughter of the late William M. and Mary R. (Howard) Burke, Maureen was raised in Chelmsford then moved to Medway to start her own family. In 2003, She was able to live out a dream to live in Tucson Arizona with two of her closest friends. In 2018, she returned to Chelmsford to be closer to family and with her beloved sister.
For many years, Maureen had the ideal occupation. She worked as a travel agent for Fox Travel. She met many lifelong friends and was able to see the world. Her favorite place on Earth was Bermuda. It’s a destination she would frequent over time with family.
She was also a lover of dancing, music, golfing and socializing with friends.
Maureen is survived by her siblings, Susan Laverty of Chelmsford MA and Michael W. Burke of Devens MA
She leaves behind her children, Marybeth Dowdell of Medway and Michael John Sullivan and wife Wendy of Carolton Georgia?
She is also survived by many grandchildren, Tristan, Elizabeth, Andrew, Charlie, Shannon, Emily and Brady and her great-grandchildren, Calum, Conor, Patrick, Nora and Lucca.
Maureen lived life to the fullest. She cherished her friends and family. Her optimism and positive attitude were abundant to the very end. She will be greatly missed.
A celebration of Maureen’s life will be held at a later date.
