Linda R. (Issa) Karmeris, 84, of Medway, died Thursday, January 2, 2025 at the Milford Regional Medical Center with family by her side. Linda was a beloved cousin, niece, friend, Nana, and above all a devoted mother. Born in South Berwick, Maine on March 20, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Ruth (Morrill) Issa and the younger sister of the late Joseph F. Issa, Jr.
Linda grew up in Dover, New Hampshire, graduated from Dover High School and earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of New Hampshire. She resided in Franklin, Massachusetts for 25 years and then Nottingham, New Hampshire for 28 years, until moving to Medway in 2017. Before her retirement, Linda worked as a materials manager in the high-tech industry for many years.
Lin’s light shone brightly through her kindness, love, and unwavering support for those she cherished. Family was always the most important thing in Lin’s life. She was always there for children, grandchildren, extended family and friends. She was a very generous person. In fact, this past Christmas, she donated to Operation Smile, Wounded Warriors, and Heifer International in her grandchildren’s names. You wouldn’t believe how excited the kids were to hear that. They were proud of their Nana.
Lin enjoyed having company and traveling to see her children, grandchildren, extended family and friends. She was always up for an adventure and trying something new. She often went to Florida and made many friends there where her daughters would often visit. The good times we had are memories we will always carry with us. Lin was a person who always had a plan to either have company come visit or visit the ones she loved. We will all miss her optimism for what adventure came next and her infectious laugh, especially at the silly things.
Her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her love for her family and friends will never be forgotten and her memory will continue to inspire those who knew her to live with love, kindness and generosity.
She is survived by her four children: Pamela Karmeris and her life partner Nancy Lee of Eliot, Maine, Mark Karmeris and his wife Ramona of Wilmington, Delaware, Christine Early and her husband John of Medway, and Cathryn Stewart of Medway. She also leaves behind five grandchildren, and one great grandchild: Margaret Hearsum, her husband James, their daughter Hannah, Teresa-Lynne Stewart, Alexsandra Stewart, Ellen Early, and John “Graham” Early.
