Gail Frances (Ward) Hayes, 87 , of Plymouth formerly of Franklin died peacefully January 9 at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Plymouth. She was the wife of the late Philip E. Hayes who died in 2008.
Born in Ware, Massachusetts, July 15,1937, the daughter of the late Edward and Lillian (White) Ward, Gail was raised in Hardwick and had lived in Franklin for over 50 years before moving to Plymouth.
Gail worked for the Franklin Police Dept. as a meter maid, and also worked for the Franklin School Dept. in the cafeteria.
She was an avid Boston Sports team fan and loved spending her winters in Indian Shores, Florida.
She is survived by her children, Robin D’Errico and her husband Tony of Plymouth, Michael Hayes and his wife Jeannette of Killingly, CT. and Tim Hayes and his wife Jeannie of Ballantine, Montana.
She is survived by her sister Mary Walsh and her husband Mickey Walsh of Daytona, Florida and was the sister of the late David Ward, Frances Charles, Leslie Ward and Donald Ward.
Gail is also survived by her 8 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Her funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, January 24 in St. Mary’s Church, Franklin at 10:00
Private burial will be held at a later date in Hardwick Center Cemetery, Hardwick, MA.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her memory to the American Lung Association of the Northeast, 1661 Worcester Rd. #301, Framingham, MA 01701.
