Patricia M. (Donovan) Circone, 85, of Franklin, passed away peacefully Tuesday, January 21st, surrounded by loved ones. Born in March of 1938 in Brockton, Massachusetts, Patricia was the cherished daughter of Joseph ad Geneva Donovan of Abington. She attended Abington High School and later pursued her passion for science by graduating from Northeastern University with Bachelors degrees in biology and chemistry.
Patricia built a remarkable career in the medical and safety fields, working at New England Medical Center and Pondville Hospital before retiring as the Director of the Massachusetts State OSHA Department.
In 1963 Patricia married the love of her life, Robert M. Circone, with whom she shared 62 wonderful years of marriage. Together for 68 years, they created a life filled with love, adventure and countless cherished memories.
Patricia is survived by her devoted husband Robert, her brother Joel Donovan of Alabama, her nephew Mark Petitt and his wife Karen of Middleboro, Massachusetts.
Patricia was predeceased by her sisters Barbara Chisolm of Natick, Cathy Leary of Abington, Mary Donovan of Abington, and brothers John Donovan of Weymouth and David Donovan of Beverly.
Patricia also leaves behind many nieces and nephews and a great-great niece.
Patricia’s life was enriched by her many hobbies and passions. She cultivated breathtaking gardens at her home, spending countless hours tending to her vast garden beds. She and Robert shared a love of travel, exploring the United States in their camper. Later in life Patricia and Robert discovered a passion for pistol shooting. Patricia became a skilled competitor and proud member of the Hopedale Pistol Club. She was also an active member of the Milford Garden Club, further sharing her love for plants and nature.
Patricia’s warm spirit, tenacity and zest for life will be missed by all who knew her. Her legacy lives on through her family, friends and the countless lives she touched throughout her life.
The celebration of Patricia’s life will be held with a private service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
