Linda Ann (Baumeister) Ravella, 77, of Franklin, MA, died Thursday, January 23, 2025, after a brief illness. She was the devoted wife of husband Ronald Enzo Ravella for 57 years.
Born in Rockville Centre, New York and raised in Long Island, New York, Linda was the daughter of the late Frederick and Helen Baumeister (Fichtner). Linda was the beloved mother of Brian Ravella and his wife Jennifer of Medway, MA, Michael Ravella and his wife Julie of Draper, Utah and Craig Ravella of Daytona, Florida. She was the loving grandmother of Andrew, Hailey, Joseph, and Leah. Dear sister of Carol Berardino and her husband Joseph, Robert Baumeister, and his wife Judy and preceded in death by her brother Frederick. She is also survived by many caring nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Linda graduated from Plainview High School of Long Island, NY, class of 1965. She showed a passion for art at an early age and earned a scholarship to the Pheonix School of Design in New York City. She worked as a technical illustrator in her early career and later studied at the Detroit Institute of Arts. She had memberships in many prestigious art organizations. Linda moved numerous times throughout her life due to Ron’s work. After leaving New York, Linda and her family moved to Michigan and Pennsylvania and finally settled in Massachusetts living in Holliston for twenty years and then Franklin.
Once in Holliston, Linda became the sole proprietor of her business and painted many individual and corporate commissions as a portrait artist. She then shifted gears, and Boston based scenes became her portrait focus – she did an oil painting series of the Swan Boats, the Public Garden and other familiar Boston scenes. After mastering her Boston series, Linda expanded her artwork to cover other popular New England sites such as Cape Cod, Jackson, NH, and Ogunquit, ME. She was the resident artist for The Mount Washington Hotel and Resort in New Hampshire and did original paintings of the Woodstock Inn and The Green Mountain Inn in Vermont among other New England resorts. Linda has had her artwork used as set dressings and props in several film productions. Her artwork can also be found in local establishments.
Linda retired from painting in 2018, to care for the love of her life Ron who is now at The Blair House Nursing Facility in Milford, MA.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Friday, January 31, at the Ginley Crowley Funeral Home, 3 Barber Street in Medway ginleyfuneralhomes.com from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. followed by a funeral service at 12 p.m. Burial will follow at Lake Grove Cemetery in Holliston.
