Mary E. (Tucker) Keefe, 88, of Franklin, died peacefully on Saturday, January 25, 2025 at her home surrounded by her family.
Born in Boston on August 9, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Mary (Conroy) Tucker.
Mary was a resident of Franklin for the past 15 years and previously resided in Roslindale and Framingham. She grew up in the Mission Hill section of Boston and graduated from Mission Church High School.
Before her retirement, she worked at John Hancock Insurance Company in Boston for almost 40 years.
Mary enjoyed bowling and crocheting in her earlier years. Mary also enjoyed shopping, whether it was grocery shopping or shopping at Kohl’s and Job Lot where you would often bump into her. She also loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-granddaughters; they were the love of her life. She also spent time with her nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great -great nieces and nephews. Family was the foundation of her life.
Mary loved her yearly family traditions – hosting St. Patrick’s Day dinner and her “open house” on Christmas Eve.
She is survived by two daughters, Sandy Cormier and her husband Artie of Milford and Susan Masionis and her husband Bill of Dennis. She was the mother of the late Walter J. Keefe, Jr.
She is also survived by her three grandchildren, Jenna Young and her husband Steve, Derek Masionis, and Shannon Cormier, two great-granddaughters, Riley and Emma Young, many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews. Mary is also survived by her cousin Mary Agnes Shoemaker, sisters-in-law Joanne Tucker and Laurie Tucker, and two special nieces, Pat Anagnos and Barb McNally.
She was pre-deceased by her twin-sister Barbara Kennedy, her brothers, Sonny “Earl” Tucker, and Fran and Gerry Tucker, and her former husband Walter J. Keefe. Mary was also pre-deceased by her childhood/adulthood best friend, Maryellen Nixon.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Monday, February 3 from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. in the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin, 131 Main Street in Franklin ginleyfuneralhomes.com followed by a funeral Mass at St. Mary’s Church in Franklin at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
