Medway Friends of the Elders are offering tribute bricks at the Senior Center patio

Would you like to honor a loved one in a lasting way? The Friends of the Elders offer tribute bricks, which will be engraved and placed on the Senior Center patio. Each brick allows for a personalized inscription of up to three lines (20 characters per line) and costs $100. All proceeds support the Friends of the Elders.

Medway Lions Club Bottle and Can Drive - Saturday, February 1

This Saturday, February 1, is the Medway Lions Club's Bottle and Can Drive! Place your redeemable bottles and cans at the end of your driveway by 8:30 a.m. Volunteers will be by to pick up your bottles and cans and use the funds from it to give back to the community. Community support is the driving force behind our success and is needed now more than ever. Please consider donating your redeemable bottles and cans to our monthly drive to help fund the community efforts we support with the proceeds. Medway residents should place their donated redeemable bottles and cans drive curbside by 9:00 AM. Alternatively, donated redeemable bottles and cans may be dropped off at our Bottle & Can shed in front of West Medway Liquors or at the Town of Medway Recycling Center on Broad Street. Two Injured in Medway Lovering Street Crash

According to NBC 10, two people were taken to the hospital after they were struck by a car
in Medway,  on Wednesday 
Police said it happened at the intersection of Lovering Heights and
Lovering Street. The injuries are not considered life-threatening, according to the report.

Water Rescue Turns Out to Be False Alarm in Franklin

Wednesday. Franklin first responders, not to mention at least two State Police cruisers, were dispatched to Beaver Pond where a motorist had reported someone on the ice had "disappeared".  All the preparations were begun for an ice/water rescue but those on scene, aidied by a drone, found no indication of any disturbance to the ice or of a person in or near the vicinity of the pond.

Franklin TA Named Pres of Mass Municipal Assn.

During the Mass Municipal Association (MMA) Annual Business Meeting on Jan. 25 in Boston, Franklin Town Administrator Jamie Hellen, who last year served as the MMA’s vice president, succeeded Waltham City Council President John McLaughlin as president of the MMA. The MMA’s new vice president is Amesbury Mayor Kassandra Gove.  Hellen said it was exciting to become president during the MMA’s rebranded and relocated annual conference, Connect 351, at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center. He said he seeks to maintain stable and consistent leadership throughout 2025, which will likely involve significant change at the global, national and state levels. He expressed confidence that local leaders will navigate challenges to have a successful and productive year.
