Library Hours

The Library’s hours are Monday through Thursday, 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday and Saturday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Sundays 1:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. The Library will be closed Monday February 17 for President’s Day.

Franklin Public Library VITA: Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Site Opening Saturday February 1 st ! The IRS's Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program offers free tax return preparation to qualified individuals. Qualified individuals generally includes: People who generally make $67,000 or less, Persons with disabilities; and Limited English-speaking taxpayers. ESL & Adult Literacy Program

The Franklin Public Library has started an English as a Second Language and Adult Literacy Program to serve Franklin and its surrounding communities. Volunteers and students do not need to be Franklin residents. If interested, fill out the registration form on the library’s website.

John Higby: Yo-Yo-Guy! Saturday, February 15 th @ 1:00PM

John Higby is the Yo-Yo Guy! He has performed his unique high-energy comedy yo-yo show in 26 countries from New Zealand to Japan, holds the world yo-yo champion title and four Guinness World Records. The Yo-Yo Guy is an interactive performance with yo-yos, unicycle, and a giant yo-yo that John walks on! Specializing in family shows, this show is great for all ages!

Mr. Vinny from the Toe Jam Puppet Band presents a dynamic and hilarious family show! Mr. Vinny specializes in storytelling with unique puppets! Get ready for lots of jokes and audience participation, and a few fun surprises!

Kids and families of all ages are invited to join us for a special concert with The BaNannies! Be ready for music, laughter, dancing, and loads of silly fun for the whole family!

Registration Required! Celebrate the Lunar New Year with Miss Lily by creating a painting to ring in the Year of the Snake! All materials will be provided.

Teen Murder Mystery Party! Saturday, February 22 nd @ 1:00PM (Ages 12-18)

Teens! Join us and help solve a murder mystery! Interview the suspects, find out who had the motive, means, and opportunity, and make your accusation!

JUNTO Non Fiction Book Club, Thursday, February 20 th 6:30PM

The JUNTO (from the Spanish junta or assembly) was a club for mutual improvement established in 1727 by Benjamin Franklin. Franklin Public Library’s JUNTO Book Club is a place to discuss a book of the month and share our insights from the book and beyond! The February Book is Caste: the origins of our discontents by Isabel Wilkerson! Get a physical or digital copy through the Library Catalog!

Painting for Adults, Saturday, February 1 st @ 1:00PM

Grown-ups! Are you feeling creative? Join Miss Lily to create your very own step-by-step painting of a covered bridge! All materials will be provided. Registration is required!

Ethics of Chocolate: A Talk & Tasting, Thursday, February 6 th @ 6:30PM

Registration required for tasting portion of the program!

As the American consumer becomes more attuned to where their food comes from, concerned chocoholics find themselves feeling a new sort of guilt when enjoying their favorite indulgence as ethical issues regarding how and through what means it was sourced arise. In this program, we’ll trace the chain of cocoa custody back to its questionable origins while examining the major world market players, and help you become a more educated consumer in the process!

Metrowest String Quartet Concert, Saturday, February 22nd @ 2:00PM
