Expected ice and snow on Sunday has led to cancellation of the program on Jazz and Civil Rights in honor of Black History Month (but you can find The Cry of Jazz on Youtube!). The museum will also be closed all day. (image above created by Google Gemini, which can't spell)
At about 7:30 AM on Friday, New England Fire News reported an injury on Pond Street in Franklin involving a 40 year old male falling with serious injuries. Franklin Fire transported the victim to the UMass Worcester Trauma Center.
After announcing with much fanfare several weeks ago that speed restrictions had been lifted and other problems had been ironed out across the troubled T, last weekend brought a serious collision between two Green Line trains that sent five to the hospital. A couple of days later, a Needham Line Commuter Rail train suffered a derailment in Readville, fortunately at low speed so there were no injuries.
And, with regard to a wide range of MBTA policies and plans, the giant transit organization is soliciting public feedback. You can share you comments, complaints, advice (or compliments) here.
Town offices in Franklin and Medway will be closed Monday. Neither town expects delays in trash pickup.
Grant
Pierre, MD, has
joined the MRPG team at Franklin
Family Practice,
working alongside Drs. Richard Daly, Jonathan Andersen, Olga Kuzina,
and Nurse Practitioners Lisa Abbondanza, Jessica Carroll, and Jordan
Manzotti. Located at 1280 West Central Street, Franklin, he is now

Dr.
Pierre brings a wealth of experience to MRPG. Most recently, he
served as Assistant Professor in the Department of Family Medicine at
UMass Chan Medical School and worked in urgent care settings at AFC
Urgent Care Marlboro and Newton-Wellesley Hospital. He earned his
medical degree from the University of Texas, Galveston, where he also
completed his internship and residency in family medicine. Dr. Pierre
further honed his expertise by completing a fellowship in sports
medicine at Texas Tech Health Science Center in El Paso.
Board-certified
in family medicine with a certification of added qualification in
sports medicine, Dr. Pierre is passionate about advancing the field.
A published researcher and accomplished speaker, he has received
recognition for his leadership and clinical contributions, including
awards for research and education. He remains actively involved in
team coverage for local high school and college sports teams and is a
sought-after presenter on topics such as joint pain, concussions,
sprains, and sports injuries.
