Eileen Patricia Norton Obituary
January 30, 1955 - May 24, 2026
Eileen Patricia Norton, age 71 of Franklin, MA passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Sunday, May 24th after a brief but courageous battle with cancer.
She was born in Framingham, MA to the late Stanley and Madeline Tozlowski, who she will be laid to rest beside.
Eileen graduated from Ashland High School in 1973, UMass Amherst in 1977, and received a Masters in Education from Cambridge College. A second generation public educator, Eileen taught fourth grade at Davis Thayer Elementary School in Franklin for 27 years and took immense pride in her work.
Eileen was loved by all who knew her, and was known for her sharp wit, beautiful smile, warmth, and unwavering kindness. Always active, she enjoyed riding with her Synergy Cycle crew, oceanside rides along the Shining Sea bike trail in Falmouth, and her newest love of hiking some of the country’s best national parks. She lived for her morning coffee, beach days at Mayflower Beach and anything that reminded her of summer. Above all, she loved her family, describing being a mother and grandmother as “her greatest joy in life.”
She is survived by her devoted partner Jeff Sooy, as well as two sons and one daughter: Rob Norton of Killington, VT and Chris Norton and his wife Kerry of Petaluma, CA; Kerry Swain and her husband Josh of Foxboro, MA.
She also leaves behind her grandson Patrick Norton, her brothers Stan Tozlowski & Mark Tozlowski, her sisters Patrice Bache, Jean Koulouris, and Jo Anne Konz, as well as many nieces and nephews.
At the family’s request, funeral services and interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Eileen Norton Memorial Scholarship Fund. This scholarship will honor Eileen's legacy by supporting a 2027 Franklin High School graduate who is pursuing a career in education.
Contributions may be made payable to Kerry Swain and mailed to:

May Eileen’s loving spirit carry on in the ocean waves, and in all of our hearts
