Franklin Legislative Forum Offered Insights But Few Solutions for Fiscal Woes

Everyone agrees that Franklin faces daunting financial headwinds, with a school budget alone that is millions of dollars shy of even level funding existing programs.

With that as a backdrop, School Committee Chair David Callaghan convened the 2025 Legislative Forum, a long-standing event that was interrupted by Covid.  The event was  held at the High School and the speakers were State Senator Becca Rausch and State Rep. Jeff Roy, who jointly represent the town on Beacon Hill.

The two hour session included opening remarks by both legislators and then their answers to about half-a-dozen questions submitted by the school committee. The final 45 minutes was a direct Q&A with audience members.
