  FRANKLIN: Josephine A. Lamothe

Josephine A. (Yoder) Lamothe, 92, of Seekonk, died Saturday, March 15, 2025, at HopeHealth Hulitar Hospice Center in Providence, RI. She was the beloved wife of Donald J. Lamothe, Sr. who died in 2020.

Born in Boston on February 7, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Norman and Margaret (Brennan) Yoder.

Josephine grew up in Franklin, graduated from Franklin High School in 1951, and resided there until moving to Seekonk 38 years ago.

Retiring in 1995, she worked as a quality control inspector at Ciba Corning for 25 years. She had also worked as a waitress at the former King Philip Ball Room in Wrentham.

Josephine was a member of the St. Mary's Women's Club in Franklin as well as a member of the St. Mary's choir. Afte moving to Seekonk, she became a member of the choir at St. Mary's Church in Seekonk where she also served as a Eucharistic minister. During her retirement, Josphine did volunteer work for the St. Vincent DePaul Society, the Seekonk Public Library, and the read books to the kindergarten children at Martin Elementary School in Seekonk.

She enjoyed ballroom dancing and travelling with her late husband Donald. She also enjoyed needlepoint and reading in her spare time.

Josephine is survived by her brother John Yoder of Franklin, 25 nieces and nephews, and many great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was the sister of the late Catherine Yoder, Gilbert Yoder, Mary Rainville, Theresa Davis, Pauline Wight, Norman Yoder, Frank Yoder, Rose Goyette, Joseph Yoder and Ann Marie Yoder.

She is also survived by four stepchildren Donald Lamothe, Jr., Jane Glynn, Michael Lamothe and Mary January, eight grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Friday, March 28 from 10:30-11:30 a.m. in the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin, 131 Main St. in Franklin followed by her funeral Mass at St. Mary's Church in Franklin at 12 p.m. Burial will follow at the parish cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, expression of sympathy may be made in her memory to the St. Vincent De Paul Society c/o St. Mary Parish, One Church Square, Franklin, MA 02038.
