A few days ago, the Town of Medway was offering assurances that the post cards sent to residents soliciting thoughts on a town post office were legitimate: " The "Potential Post Office Relocation Comment Period" postcard you may have received is legitimate. The USPS is seeking public input on potential locations for the new Medway post office (formerly at 115 Main Street).
USPS invites you to share your feedback on an alternative 1,087 sq. ft. location by returning the postcard to the listed address within 45 days. Your input matters!"
Now according to a statement provided by the USPS, the process is sounding a bit more concrete:
The Postal Service was forced to move out of the Main Medway post office at 115 Main St. due to a loss of lease and is currently in the process of seeking a new location to offer postal retail services within the community. Once a site has been identified, there will be a period of public comment where community members can weigh in on its suitability. The Medway Village Post Office will remain open as a local alternative during this search and relocation process. We thank our Medway customers for their patience and look forward to resuming full operations in town as quickly as feasible.
