MBTA Workers Faked Safety Inspections

Four former MBTA inspectors (above) and one current T supervisor pleaded not guilty Thursday to federal charges that they falsified track inspection records while using an agency garage as their own "automobile repair shop." Prosecutors alleged the quintet of employees submitted or greenlit reports last fall describing track inspection work, despite surveillance video showing them engaged in conversation, using cellphones or working on motor vehicles at the same times that the inspections supposedly took place.

Another Gambling Mecca May be Coming to Taunton

According to a Contrarian Boston report, The Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe is gearing up to unveil plans for a scaled-down version of the $1 billion casino resort it first proposed  a decade ago in Taunton. Since then the tribe won a victory over opponents n the U.S. Supreme Court and tribal leaders are again looking to partner with Genting, the multibillion-dollar casino giant.
