June 7 – Porchfest! This
second annual town-wide event runs from noon to 6 pm. Multiple bands
are scheduled to perform on the museum portico. Bring a lawnchair or
blanket! Rain date, June 8.

Saturday, June 7 – Fakes & Forgeries Come to the First Annual Fakes & Forgeries Exhibit, sponsored by The Franklin Art Association and the Franklin Historical Museum to enjoy artistic reproductions and creative interpretations of great artworks by FAA artists! There may also be a showing of art-related projects by FHS students. The exhibit runs from June 7-22. Opening Reception: June 7, 12-6 pm (Porchfest will be happening at the same time!) Admission is free!
Sun. June 8--Second Sunday Speaker Series: “Franklin’s Historic Artists”

In
the 19th and 20th centuries, a number of artists, still highly
regarded, emerged in Franklin or had Franklin roots, including Eliab
Metcalf (1785-1834), Henry Hammond Gallison (1850-1910), and Charles
Partridge Adams (1858-1942) among others. More recent creatives such
as the late Dohn Cluff will also be discussed. The slide show and
talk by Historical Commission Chair Alan Earls, is offered in
conjunction with the ongoing Franklin Art Association exhibit. It
starts at 1:15 and will include background about the artists and
images of some of their works. The museum is open from 1-4 and
admission is free.

June 13 –Strawberry Stroll and `Welcome to Strawberry Patch’ –
In honor of Franklin’s agricultural past and the annual Franklin
Downtown Partnership Strawberry Stroll, there will be a ribbon
cutting at 4 pm for a small garden of real strawberries in front of
the museum along with popcorn, strawberry-related giveaways, and
decorations. And, in coordination with the Franklin United Methodist
Community Closet next door – open during Strawberry Stroll, the
museum will be hosting a brief (and fun) shabby-chic fashion show at
4:30! The museum is open during Stroll hours from 4-8. Rain Date Sat.

The
Franklin Historical Museum is located at 80 West Central Street,
Franklin.
The
museum is open Saturday mornings from 10AM-1PM (except as noted
above) and Sunday afternoons from 1:00PM-4:00PM.
