Sheriff Patrick McDermott and the Norfolk County Sheriff’s Office will host a free Veterans Appreciation Cookout in Braintree on Sunday, July 13th at the office’s Public Safety Complex.
The event, organized by the Norfolk County Sheriff’s Community Engagement team, is part of an ongoing effort to support veterans in Norfolk County through partnerships with local Veterans’ Service Officers.
“This is a great way to honor our local veterans and their families,” said Sheriff McDermott. “We are welcoming everyone to this cookout as we celebrate all of the things that veterans have given to this country.”
The Norfolk County Sheriff’s Public Safety Complex is located at 2015 Washington Street, Braintree.

Other veteran outreach efforts by the sheriff’s office include its signature “House to House for Heroes” program, where volunteers go door-to-door delivering important information to veterans about the benefits and resources available to them.
The sheriff’s office has held House to House for Heroes events in Weymouth, Norfolk, and Walpole this year, and has similar events planned in Canton, Foxboro, and Stoughton later this year.
