Kathleen “Kathy” Mary (Consigli) Burke passed away peacefully June 24, 2025.
She was born September 20, 1945 to Joseph and Katie (Chaplin) Consigli of Medway Massachusetts.
A graduate of Medway High School, Kathy met and married Thomas “Frank” Burke in May 1965. Kathleen and Frank had four children together, but she raised dozens more as her own. Divorced after 25 years, she and Frank maintained a jovial and loving relationship throughout the rest of her life. She invited him, and they attended, a “Senior” Prom just this June, prior to her passing.
A woman of quiet service and kindness to others, she personally sheltered and cared for hundreds of children in need.
After 20 years of service to the community as a Special Needs Assistant, she retired from the Athol-Royalston Regional School District in 2011.
Kathy possessed an uncommon obligation to care for others without asking anything in return.
She is survived by her children Thomas, Dennis (Jenny), K.C. (Ryan), Joshua (Alanna), and Crystal McElhone, her grandchildren, and her great grandson. Her fierce love lives on, not only in them, but also in each of the many children she fostered throughout her long commitment to children in need of care, safety and a place to call home.
A calling hour will be held at Witty’s Funeral Home 158 South Main St, Orange MA, on Thursday, July 10th from 5-6 P.M. with a time of remembrance following.
