Christopher Millien, of Medway was
sentenced Wednesday in Worcester Superior Court
The charges he faced stemmed from a
June 30, 2021 crash that resulted in the death of the 17-year-old
passenger in his car. Millien was alleged to have been driving twice
the speed limit before losing control of the car and striking a tree.
The female passenger was pronounced deceased on the scene.
Millien was initially charged with
motor vehicle homicide by reckless operation and arraigned on Nov.
29, 2021 in Milford District Court. The indictment moved his case to
Worcester Superior Court.
According to a published report, as
part of a plea deal in Worcester Superior Court, Millien, 30, pleaded
guilty to motor vehicle homicide by reckless operation; reckless
endangerment of a child; and providing alcohol to a person younger
than 21.
Judge Karin Bell reportedly sentenced
Millien to two years and six months in the Worcester County House of
Correction in West Boylston, with two years to serve. The remaining
six months will be suspended during his three years of probation,
which starts after he is released.
The victim, Jenna Giardini, had just
graduated from Nipmuc Regional High School.
