A "Meet & Greet" to Substitute for Traditional "Candidate Debate"

Efforts by several people in town or organize and schedule the traditional, semi-official ‘debate’ or candidate’s night’ ran out of steam and also ran up against the planned start of early voting on Oct. 17.

But to the rescue, at least for Town Council candidates, has come the Franklin Residents for Responsible Leadership PAC, which is organizing and sponsoring a Meet & Greet Night at “Teddy Gallagher’s Irish Pub," at 30 Main Street starting at 6 pm, next Wednesday, Oct. 8.

According to the organizers, invitations have been made to all 15 candidates for Town Council, the largest field in years. The informal format will allow for more one-on-one conversations as well as a chance for voters to interact in a relaxed setting. The public is welcome to meet and speak with all of those running and in attendance.

As for other candidates, so far we are not aware of any relevant or similar events…

Observer will soon be publishing candidate statements from Town Council candidates  who have submitted them, and from candidates for other positions as time permits.
