The More Things Change...The More They Stay the Same?

It took nearly 90 minutes after the polls closed Tuesday night for election officials to issue unofficial vote totals from the 6,000+ ballots cast during the election.

Most significantly, four long-serving Councilors, Chair Tom Mercer, Clerk Glen Jones,  Councilor Deb Pellegri, and Councilor Patrick Sheridan lost out to newcomers. The only incumbents to survive the slaughter were Vice Chair Robert Dellorco and Councilor Ted Cormier-Leger.

The top Town Council vote getter was Caroline Griffith, who is married to reelected School Committee member Paul Griffith, with 36114 votes.

The other newly elected councilors are Michael LeBlanc, Jane Callaway-Tripp, Ken Ojukwu, Gene Grella, Steve Malloy, and Max Morrongiello.  

KP Sompally was the only candidate to not make the cut on the School Committee.

As of this writing, the Write-ins for Board of Health were not available.
