The Sons & Daughters of Italy in America, a historically rich fraternal and cultural organization is celebrating a major milestone -- a full century of lodge history in Franklin.

• Franklin Historical Museum Exhibit

Enjoy the free exhibit of 100 years of history from April 11 through the first week of May. Located at 80 West Central St., the Museum is open Thursdays 5-8PM, Saturdays 10AM-1PM & Sundays 1-5PM.
• Author and Historian Stephen Puleo

On April 12 at 1:15 at the Historical Museum, Stephen Puleo, will speak about his book, “The Boston Italians”, which describes how Italian immigrants overcame poverty, illiteracy and prejudice to become an important element of civic, business and cultural life in Greater Boston. Mr. Puleo’s other books include “Dark Tide” about the great molasses spill in the North End as well as books about the Civil War, World War II, the Irish Famine, and more recently, “The Great Abolitionist,” about Charles Sumner. Free admission.
• Pasta Dinner, May 16 at 6:00 PM

The celebration will conclude with a Pasta Dinner (catered by Oliva’s) on Saturday, May 16th at the VFW Hall, 1034 Pond St.
Tickets are $20 ($15 for members) and limited to 100 in attendance at one time. The dinner will honor the four heroes for whom the Lodge is named: Emilio Daddario, Alfred Mucciarone, Alexander Patete, and Patrick Ristaino, who died while serving in the American Army during World War I.
