The Franklin Downtown Partnership and the Franklin Garden Club are getting ready to decorate the downtown
for the holidays and winter on Saturday, November 22 from 9 am to 12 pm. Volunteers are needed to help
clean, prep and decorate.

The Healey-Driscoll Administration recently joined with Eversource, National Grid and Unitil to raise awareness about new electric heat pump rates as the winter heating season begins. Governor Maura Healey called for expanded heat pump rates in her Energy Affordability Agenda announced in March. Starting this winter, the seasonal reduced rates are available to residential customers of the three major utilities who heat their homes with heat pumps, shifting cost burdens onto other electricity customers who do not have heat pumps installed.

Months ago we reported that the Mass Teachers Association planned to inject a cool million dollars into local political races. In at least one town, things went badly. According to a report, just out, in Contrarian Boston, All three School Committee candidates blessed by the Newton Teachers Association, the local affiliate of the militant state teachers union, went down to defeat.
In fact, it wasn’t even close.
