As the towns of Medway and Millis  continue to grow, particularly among residents age 60 and older, the respective Councils on Aging saw a need to understand the needs, priorities, and opportunities ahead.

So, Medway recently collaborated with Town of Millis, the Edward J. Collins, Jr. Center, and the Gerontology Institute at UMass Boston on a comprehensive community assessment. According to a town posting, tthe feedback gathered will help guide thoughtful planning, strengthen services, and ensure we are supporting older adults in ways that reflect what matters most to them. "We encourage residents to review the reports and presentation and stay engaged as we move forward together."

The Town of Millis also posted the following information:

"The Town of Millis received a state legislative earmark in 2024 and in 2025 to commission studies in the towns of Millis and Medway. The Millis and Medway Councils on Aging partnered with the Edward J. Collins, Jr. Center and the Gerontology Institute at the University of Massachusetts Boston to conduct a review and a community assessment to evaluate the needs of older adults. By looking at the results received by older adults in both towns, the Millis and Medway Councils on Aging may find helpful ways to address issues together to better serve you.
