The Second Sunday Speaker Series this Sunday August 8 at the Franklin Historical Museum is a three-part extravaganza, of sorts focusing on the famous, Whiting and Davis company -- a maker of unique fashion items -- many of which are highly collectible. A rare, glass-plate negative collection of images from Franklin in the "teens" of the 20th century has been mined for images of the Whiting house and some of his well-to-do contemporaries along with gardens and family scenes. The current owner of Whiting and Davis, Darrin Cutler is also planning a brief presentation. Finally, a rich selection of Whiting and Davis objects is on loan from a local collector and will be displayed at the museum. Doors open at 1:00, presentation begins at 1:15. The museum is located on West Central Street near the Fire Station.
