Another Marathon for Awarded Tri-County Graduate

Kaylee Dunn, a 2018 graduate of the Early Education program at Tri-County Regional Vocational Technical School, ran in her second Boston Marathon this year. She qualified to run competitively in this year's event after finishing last year's marathon with a time of two hours and 59 minutes.

Kaylee was a student who embraced all of the opportunities presented to her as a student at Tri-County. She attended several SkillsUSA competitions in the Early Childhood Education competition, and represented Massachusetts at the National Skills & Leadership Conference.

"I am not surprised that Kaylee is a beloved Kindergarten teacher. As a high school student, she had innate skills that cannot be taught, especially the passion and care she demonstrated to the children she worked with." said Michelle Reardon, one of her Early Education teachers.

Kaylee was a record-setting athlete at TC and those records still stand. The first 4 are track records and the last one is a cross country record.

1-Mile (5:25)

2-Miles (11:27)

4x400m Relay (4:31)

4x800m Relay (11:38)

5000m (19:25)

Seth Curran, her coach for Cross Country and Track and Field, said, "From her early days, Kaylee had a lot of what can be learned but not taught: drive, toughness, boldness. What she accomplished at TC was foundational for our program. She elevated girls distance running here for generations of future competitors, and they've all been chasing her ever since. As she's matured as both a runner and working professional, it's been a pleasure to see her grow into her current form. She's still gutsy and confident and directed, and it looks as good as ever on her."
