Even as Boston fans mourn their sports teams, the New England Revolution - who, for the record, are unbeaten in six and perfect at home this season, have something else to celebrate.
On Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. ET at the Sports Illustrated Pavilion in Foxborough, Mass., the team will be hosting its annual Revolution Unified Soccer Team Signing Day. This year’s roster features Franklin, Mass. native Ryan Pare.
This 12th season of Revolution Unified Soccer kicks off with Signing Day. Revolution Head Coach Marko Mitrović and Sporting Director Curt Onalfo will be showing their support for the squad, along with several Revolution players.
Now in its 12th season, the Revolution's Special Olympics Unified Team is a core tenet of the club's "Soccer for All" platform, reinforcing that Major League Soccer is a welcoming environment for all players, fans, and partners regardless of disability, race, religion, national origin, gender identity, sexual orientation or socioeconomic status. The team is comprised of athletes both with and without intellectual disabilities, most from Massachusetts and one from Rhode Island, sending a important message about the power of inclusion. This year's Play Unified season will consist of a home-and-away series against Toronto FC's Unified team, an international matchup between teams from two of the three unified hosts of this summer's FIFA World Cup. Both games will coincide with MLS matchdays between their first team counterparts. The Revolution Unified Team will host Toronto at Gillette Stadium on July 22, before traveling north of the border on August 15.
The New England Revolution, owned and operated by the Kraft family, began play in 1996 as one of the original founding clubs of Major League Soccer (MLS). Through 30 MLS seasons, the Revolution are five-time MLS Eastern Conference champions and claimed the 2021 Supporters' Shield after a record-setting campaign.
