Town Offices Closed Friday in Medway and Franklin

Foxborough sued by Kraft Group
Remember the will-they, won't-they waiting game a few months ago regarding whether the Town of Foxborough would issue a permit for the World Cup events? Well, an aspect of that story is now in court. According to a report from WBUR, such events require town's to issue an entertainment license and state law says the fee can't exceed $100. But this time, the town added a "renewal" charge of $953,640 and acknowledged that the money was to offset what was expected to be an extensive and lengthy period of readiness and response. Kraft Group wants a refund.
Norwood Hospital Rescue Hits a Wall
According to multiple published sources, Mass General Brigham had shown interest in acquiring and reviving Norwood hospital recently. But at some point in the negotiations, Steward's former "partner" that retained control of the real estate, jacked the price up substantially. MGB walked away. Now there is a move to acquire the site through eminent domain.
