Dorothy Anne Kennedy Ribero, 90, of Franklin, MA, passed away suddenly on May 30, 2026.
Dorothy was born in Roslindale, MA, on August 17, 1935. Her parents, Josephine and John Kennedy, ran Birch Flower Shop in Roslindale, where she spent her childhood. Dottie married George Ribero of Franklin, MA, and they raised five children together.
Dottie worked as an AT&T telephone operator before marriage, helped out with the family flower shop, and held various retail positions throughout her life. But by far, her most important and treasured role was housewife and homemaker. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, and a wonderful friend. She was very proud of her family, and loved keeping up to date with what everyone was up to. Some of her favorite activities were cooking, going out to eat, shopping, working out, and playing cards.
Dorothy is survived by three children, Linda Shannon (Kevin) of Franklin, MA, Deborah Burns (Robert) of Ventura, CA, and Thomas Ribero (Robin) of Pittsfield, MA; her sister, Ruth Kennedy of Dorchester, MA; nine grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband George Ribero, and her sons Ronald and John Ribero.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to Holy Name Parish in West Roxbury, MA.
A Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Name Parish in West Roxbury, MA from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Monday, June 29, 2026. In honor of Dottie, please wear bright clothing to celebrate her long and joyful life.
