Daniel J Porro (Danny) age 85, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of his family on June 18, 2026.
Born on March 7, 1941, in Boston, Massachusetts, Danny was the beloved son of Savino and Philomena Porro, Italian immigrants who built a strong and loving family. He was the youngest of ten children and shared a special lifelong bond with his twin brother, Cosmo.
Danny grew up in West Roxbury, Massachusetts, where he learned the value of hard work at an early age. As a young boy, he worked alongside his father and twin brother in the family's coal and ice business, helping to support the family and developing the work ethic that would define his life.
After attending Boston Trade School, Danny became an exceptional cabinet maker and craftsman and pursued his passion for over 60 years. During that time, he founded and operated his own custom cabinet business, The Wood Shop, earning a reputation for excellence, precision, and artistry. His remarkable talent extended beyond cabinetry; he was a gifted artist whose creativity could be seen in everything he touched. Through his hands, beautiful pieces of furniture and works of art were brought to life, leaving a lasting legacy of craftsmanship and dedication.
Danny was a hardworking man who loved his work deeply and continued doing what he loved until retiring at the age of 80. However, through the years his greatest joy was always his family and spending time with them at his home on Cape Cod. He was the most loving, kind-hearted, and generous person, whose warmth and gentle spirit touched everyone fortunate enough to know him. He was also a wonderful dancer, full of life and fun, and his presence could brighten any room.
Danny shared 65 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Jean, the love of his life and devoted partner. Together they built a family that was the center of his world.
He is survived by his wife, brother Cosmo, sister Nina, three children Elena, Dianna and Christopher and six grandchildren, along with many extended family members and dear friends.
Danny was the heart of our family. His love, kindness, laughter, and unwavering devotion to those he cherished will remain with us forever. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
