A host of seasonal projects is making travel in Medway more challenging, according to multiple postings on Medwayma.gov.
>The week began with a water shut off for residents on Holliston
Street (from Ellis Street to Fairway Lane) which was scheduled to last
from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM on Monday to perform necessary water main work.
> Meanwhile, scheduled work in the area of Medway and Village streets
has faced delays due to a mechanical issue requiring repairs on the
contractor’s main pavement reclaiming machine, forcing a shift in
schedule. Work continued Monday and Tuesday but without much traffic
disruption. However from Wed (7/15) - Fri (7/17): there will be a
significant shutdown and detour Plan your routes accordingly and expect
minor delays early in the week.
>The Holliston/Village/Matondi Square intersection will be closed for road breaking and grading which begins on Wednesday, July 15, 2026. This work will require a full shutdown of the roadways between Sanford Street & Village Street, North Street & Holliston Street, and Shaw Street & Village Street.
>Casting and paving work will continue on Summer Street on Wednesday, July 15.
To safely facilitate this work, Summer Street will be closed to through traffic between Milford Street and Lovering Street. Detour signs will be posted, and police officers/flaggers will be on-site to assist drivers.
If you need to access the High School on July 15, please note the following temporary traffic pattern:
Entering the High School: The school will be accessible from Summer Street via the Milford Street (Route 109) side. Exiting the High School: All exiting traffic must use the access road leading to Adams Street.
Please note there will be signage, detours, secondary barriers, and officers to facilitate traffic flow.
>The Holliston & Village Street project is realigning the intersection, dead-ending Church Street, and adding a new shared-use path. For the latest updates on detours and construction schedules, check the Town of Medway Official Website.“During the construction period, the Medway Police Department will increase traffic enforcement and patrols in neighborhoods along the detour routes
