James F. Keane, Jr. 68, of Franklin died suddenly September 1 at Milford Regional Medical Center. He was the husband of Jeanne M. (Welch) Keane for the past 27 years.
Born in Boston, August 7,1953, the son of the late James F. Keane and Dorothy (Carr) Keane, Mr. Keane was raised in Avon and Brockton and had lived in Franklin for the past 27 years.
James was a graduate of Cardinal Spellman High School and Stonehill College.
He had worked in network services for the Bay State Gas Company for 18 years and then worked as a teaching assistant for the Town of Sharon Public Schools.
Jim enjoyed lacrosse, whether it was watching his son’s games or announcing the Franklin High School games.
He also enjoyed politics and the New England Patriots.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his sons, James F. Keane III and Michael P. Keane of Franklin.
He is also survived by his siblings, Regina Keane of Bridgewater, William Keane of Brockton, Patrice Fraser of Sandwich, Thomas Keane of Plymouth, Deirdre Keane of Bridgewater and Dorice Keane of Bridgewater and many nieces and nephews.
His funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday September 8 in St. Mary’s Church , Franklin at 10:00
Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
