An 81-year-old woman with dementia who lives in the Glen Meadow apartment complex off of East Central Street was initially reported missing around 8:30 AM, having last been seen an hour and a half earlier by her husband.
The report triggered a large response from Franklin police and employees of the complex. Many others were eventually involved. Local retailers and others businesses were informed and searched (in the case of retailers). A BOLO (be on the lookout) alert was issued through Metacomet Emergency Communication Center in Norfolk for neighboring departments to, please be on the lookout for Kathleen Wilcox, an 81-year-old female last seen wearing bright green sweatpants and possibly a green t-shirt. Last scene near her residence at Glen Meadow around 7am.
Police searched woods and marshes in the vicinity and asked other municipal employees to keep an eye out as far away as Fletcher field and beyond.
With the help of employees, all the buildings at Glen Meadow were searched. Finally, just after 10 AM, a Franklin Police officer spotted Wilcox in a vehicle parked behind a residence, apparently unharmed.
