The planning by leadership of the Franklin July 4 Coalition is now paying off with Carnival rides nearly ready to start operating as of Wednesday evening and community groups beginning to set up food booths. Events start Thursday at 6 and continue until 5 pm on Monday, July 4 (see detailed schedule, below).
On tap for Saturday on the Common is a free Blues Festival and, at 10 pm, fireworks nearby near the High School. But there are other musical offerings throughout the duration of the Carnival.

THE JULY 4 COALITION COMMUNITY FOOD BOOTHS
A Total of six food booths will be serving up a wide range of foods and refreshments during Carnival operations. The July 4 Coalition itself has a booth serving icecream, soda, and freezer pops. Franklin July 4th Coalition is a non-profit organization made up of community volunteers. Its sole mission is to preserve our town’s annual July 4th celebration for the Town of Franklin

And, you can still Volunteer! Early Sunday morning, volunteers are asked to join in combing the playing fields near the high school to pickup and debris left from the fireworks or locate any unexploded devices.
