1) Walk the Ladybug Trail. Best place to start: 9 a.m. at Franklin Historical Museum at (Route 140). Free trail map at the Historical Museum or around the corner at Escape Into Fiction at 12 Main Street.
2) Search for the ladybug sculptures tucked around downtown's buildings and alleys. Enjoy lunch or dinner, or shopping along the trail.
3) Learn how the ladybug became the official "state insect" for Mass. 50 years ago. It started in Franklin! State Rep. Jeff Roy will speak about ladybugs and lawmaking at 11 a.m at the Historical Museum.
