Wednesday marked a first for five-term State Rep. Jeff Roy, the Democrat who represents the 10th Norfolk District, consisting of Franklin and most of Medway, and for newly elected Republican Marcus Vaughn, who represents the 9th Norfolk District, which includes Wrentham, Plainville, Norfolk, and parts of  Medfield, Millis, and Walpole.

Neither man had met the other so the two finally enjoyed a brief sit down to discuss their common concerns and interests.

"Marcus and I had a great meeting today and got to know each other better; I look forward to working with him in this session of the legislature," said Roy.

For his part, Vaughn noted that as neighbors across the Franklin & Wrentham town line, "we can align on many issues as we share a similar constituent demographic."

"I applaud Representative Roy's continued efforts as the chair of the Manufacturing Caucus and his commitment to assuring Bay Staters have local, high-paying jobs as a result of promoting and encouraging more manufacturing and innovation here in our state," Vaughn added.
