Francis S. Corso, Jr. , 56, of Franklin died May 23 at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Boston following a brief illness.

Born in Norwood, May 6,1967, the son of Janice R. (Heaton) Corso of Franklin and the late Francis S. Corso, Sr., Francis was raised in Franklin and had lived in Provincetown for many years before returning to Franklin.

Francis had been a commercial lobsterman in Provincetown for many years. He had previously worked in construction in the Franklin area.

He was a true outdoorsman who had hiked the Appalachian Trail. Francis was also an avid fan of the Grateful Dead.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his siblings, Cheryl Balbanis and her husband Edward of Foxboro and Richard Corso and his husband Donald Laliberte of Providence, Rhode Island.

He is also survived by his nieces Olivia and Addison.

His private graveside service will be held in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Franklin.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his memory to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, 330 Brookline Ave. Boston, MA 02215.
