Elaine Marie (Embree) Finase, affectionately known as Lainey, left this world on September 25, 2023, at the age of 66, in Franklin, Massachusetts.
She was born on January 15, 1957, in Brookline, MA, to the loving parents Paul and Joan (Starr) Embree.
Elaine's journey began in Wrentham, Massachusetts, where she spent her childhood and graduated from King Philip Regional High School in 1975. But her story is not just about dates and places; it's a beautiful tale of love, compassion, and empathy.
If you had the privilege of knowing Elaine, you'd understand that she had a heart of gold and a soul that radiated warmth. Her remarkable gift was empathy, and she was an unwavering source of support for her family and friends. Elaine was the kind of person who would drop everything to help someone in need, no questions asked. To her family, she was a mother, sister, aunt, and a dependable friend, always ready to lend a helping hand and show her love in countless ways.
Her compassion didn't stop at humans; it extended to animals. Elaine adored her dogs, Molly and Kobe, but she was also a fierce advocate for animal rights. She wasn't shy about letting everyone know and even signed up her loved ones for animal activism newsletters. She believed that we all needed to stand up for those who couldn't speak for themselves.
Elaine's heart was a rarity, a treasure we can only hope to mirror in our lives.
Elaine found joy in creativity, especially in tending to her garden. She had a magical touch, and her yard was always adorned with an array of beautiful flowers, plants, and trees. She would often visit her relatives' homes to share her expertise, adding that special touch that only she could. Gardening wasn't just a hobby; it was her way of expressing love.
During holidays, Elaine took delight in baking for her family. Her arrival at family gatherings was eagerly awaited, as she would bring her famous turnovers, pumpkin bread, pies, and other delectable treats, each bite infused with love and the unspoken message, "I love you."
Though Elaine is no longer with us in the physical sense, her spirit will forever reside in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her.
Elaine is survived by her husband, John Finase, her adored children, Michael Embree of Pawtucket, RI, and Timothy Finase of Attleboro, MA, her dear siblings, Paul Embree, Patrice Embree Fazio, Diane Embree Clement, and Christine Embree, her cherished grandchildren, Anthony Finase and Jacob Finase, as well as her nieces, Kelsi, Kelly, Katie, and Julie, and her nephew, Jared.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects at the R.J. Ross Funeral Home, 135 South Street, Wrentham, MA, on Monday, October 2, 2023, from 10 AM to 12 PM. A funeral service will follow at 12 PM, with burial at Wrentham Center Cemetery, 56 Dedham Street, Wrentham, MA.
