Friday at the library, with support from the Franklin Cultural District Committee and the Mass. Cultural Council and as part of Ben Franklin Book Week, the library introduced a new booklet for visitors, “Sense Being Preferable to Sound: Dr. Franklin and America’s First Free Lending Library.” The 35-page booklet covers the story of Ben and the newly minted town in search of a name, his donation, and a brief explanation about the books themselves, their meaning and significance.
The kickoff book introduction and talk attracted about 30 people yesterday afternoon.
