Un-Pleasant -- Delays Expected in Franklin This AM

A Franklin resident early New  Year's Day contacted Observer to express concern about the planned closure of Pleasant Street from 8-4 on Thursday, which runs from the Town Common nearly to Norfolk, which he learned of only through signs which had just been posted along the road.

"There are Detour signs notifying folks it’s effective TOMORROW…not a lot of notice but it suggests a lot of folks are not happy with last minute signage when going t0 work/ school," he wrote.

An inquiry with Franklin DPW Director Robert Cantoreggi yielded a statement that this was not an emergency but rather a planned repair and while the posted duration of the closure is 8am to 4 pm, crew are hopeful repairs will not require the full day.
