Stephen Burton Hunt, 87, of Franklin, passed peacefully February 7 at CareOne in Newton. He was the husband of Jeanette (Lamey) Hunt for the past 65 years.

Born in Chelsea, February 1, 1937, the son of the late Ralph and Lillian (Buxton) Hunt, Mr. Hunt was raised in Brighton and raised his family in Sharon, before moving to Franklin 31 years ago.

Stephen was a graduate of Boston Trade School.

He had been an electrician for the Raytheon Corporation for over 40 years before retiring.

Stephen enjoyed gardening and bird watching. He loved to eat and was known for his great sense of humor.

Stephen served in the Air Force during the late 1950’s attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Stephen D. Hunt and his wife Grace of Stoughton, Sharon Hunt of Attleboro, Karen Calvert and her husband Bob of Lakeville and Jeanette Hilbrunner and her husband Keith of Attleboro.

He is also survived by his grandchildren, Christopher, Douglas, Courtney, Madison and Alexandra.

His funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 17, in Christ Episcopal Church, School Street, Medway at 1:00 PM.

Burial will be in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the American Cancer Society, 3 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
