Vaughn-a-thon...Franklinites Organize to Support Neighboring Legislator

On Thursday, a group of Franklin residents who have been impressed by freshman State Rep. Marcus Vaughn, who hails from Wrentham, have organized a fundraising event at the Rome Restaurant. Proceeds from the $50 per person buffet dinner, nicknamed the Vaughn-a-thon, will go to the Committee to Elect Marcus Vaughn.

Vaughn, a local businessman who lives in Wrentham, won his seat originally in 2022. He represents the 9th Norfolk District, consisting of Precincts 3, and 4, of the town of Medfield, Precinct 1, of the town of Millis, Norfolk and Plainville, Precinct 5, of the town of Walpole, and the town of Wrentham. He has distinguished himself by focusing on local priorities and has steered an independent path. For Franklinites, he is viewed as crucial for keeping balance within the larger Senate district and offering a counterweight to some more extreme legislators.

Rep. Vaughn serves as the ranking minority on the House Committee on Operations, Facilities and Security and a member on the Joint Committee on Public Safety and Homeland Security. He grew up in North Attleborough and attended Syracuse University on a full scholarship. He later earned an MBA in international business from California State University, Monterey Bay.

Anyone interested in supporting Rep. Vaughn and attending the event, please contact Alan Earls by Tuesday at 9 pm at alan.r.earls@gmail.com
