Kathleen A. LaBastie, 67

Kathleen A. (Matthews) LaBastie, 67, of Franklin, MA passed away peacefully at Milford Regional Medical Center on Wednesday, April 10, 2024 with loving family by her side. She was the beloved wife for 49 years of Steven H. LaBastie and the loving mother of Justin M. LaBastie of Franklin, MA. She leaves her cherished granddaughter Destiny R. LaBastie of Franklin, MA.

Kathleen was born in Newton, MA on February 1, 1957, the daughter of the late William V. and Josephine S. (Stinchfield) Matthews, and the sister of the late Diane M. Sulima, Marie E. Kutcher, William V. Matthews Jr., and Lynn A. Skrzat.

Kathleen has been a resident of Franklin for over 50 years formerly of Bellingham. She was a graduate of Bellingham High School Class of 1975. Together with her husband Steven, they operate Homestead Acres in Franklin. She also managed Women’s World Health Club in Franklin, and was a Veterinarian Tech at Millis Animal Hospital. Kathleen was a member of the American Paint Horse Association showing her horses.

Kathleen was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She will be greatly missed.

Visitation time will be held on Friday, April 26th from 11AM to 12PM at Cartier’s Funeral Home, 151 So. Main St. (Rte 126), Bellingham, MA with a Prayer Service at 12PM. Burial will follow at St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery, Bellingham.
