Times of Israel Article takes on Mass Teachers Association

A recent Times of Israel article focused not on Gaza or the West Bank, but on Massachusetts, specifically the powerful Massachusetts Teachers Association (MTA), which represents 117,000 members in 400 local associations throughout Massachusetts; described by one of its officials as 'the largest union in New England.'

The author starts by quoting individuals exposed to a MTA training program about Palestine that they found to be problematic, suggesting in it that Israel was associated with imperialism and colonialism and accusing Zionists of being a multi-million dollar propaganda machine and "that all the violence in the region is because of the Jews."

The author explored further, the way educators have shared these views through various school systems in the region. “They are indoctrinating a whole generation of students to hate Israel and to hate Israeli Jews,"  said the parent TOI interviewed.

According to TOI, late last year, the MTA board "approved a resolution directing its leadership to pressure the Biden administration to “stop funding and sending weapons in support of the Netanyahu government’s genocidal war on the Palestinian people in Gaza.”"
