Annual Memorial Day Parade and Ceremonies

Memorial Day recognizes and honors all American veterans, especially those killed in the line of duty.

This year's Franklin Parade Marshal is Rose Turco, a long time supporter of local veterans. She will be driven in the parade by American Legion member Joe Landry.

This year's Franklin Memorial Day Parade begins Monday morning at 10:30 from the vicinity of Depot Street, down Main Street to a first stop at Dean College, where there will be a ceremony at the school's War Memorial.

Marchers than proceed down School Street, where there is another stop for a ceremony at the Union Street Cemetery. The parade then marches to the right down West. Central. [Due to a reporting error this part of the route was previously  described incorrectly. We apologize fot this mistake,]

The parade then continues down West Central  to the intersection with Beaver Street, where Marchers turn right. There is a pause at the St. Mary's Cemetery for a ceremony, and then a final march to the Common.

Parents of marchers are asked to be mindful of the ceremonies which will be continuing and to follow the instructions of those working on traffic management and, in particular, to be quiet and respectful during the balance of the ceremonies, usually concluded around 1 pm,
