According to a New England Fire News alert, the Franklin Fire Department was called to 303 East Central Street at 5:50 pm on Tuesday for a 16-year-old male victim with “an open fracture to the leg after a trampoline accident.” The teen was transported by ambulance to the Hasbro Children’s trauma facility in Providence.
The address includes Altitude Trampoline Park, which opened at that address in October of 2019 offering a `range of up-and-down activities,’ from basketball dunking to super-charged "performance" trampolines.
The facility also hosts groups and kids' parties. The attractions are safety-tested by the American Society of Testing and Materials, according to the company. Texas-based Altitude Trampoline Park operates 77 other parks in the U.S., including locations in Marlborough, Billerica, and Avon. According to the website, everyone who jumps on the company’s trampolines is required to sign a waiver. If you are under 18 years old, a waiver must be signed by their parent or legal guardian. Online waivers remain valid for one year.
Request for comment left on the company phone and website did not elicit a response as of post time.
