Secretary of the Commonwealth William F. Galvin is encouraging Massachusetts voters who have not already voted by mail in the upcoming State Primaries to take advantage of early voting this weekend. Early voting for the September 3, 2024 State Primaries kicks off Saturday, August 24 in both Franklin and Medway and runs through Friday, August 30.
All cities and towns in Massachusetts are required to offer early voting this weekend. Most communities are planning to be open for voting on Saturday, which is also the last day for voters to register to vote or change their party for the primaries.
FRANKLIN HOURS
MEDWAY HOURS
Early Voting will be held during times listed below in the 1st Floor conference room at the Medway Town Hall, 155 Village Street:
Galvin recommends voters check their city or town’s early voting schedule now, to make a plan to vote, and warns that many local election offices have limited hours on Fridays.
“With the primaries being held on the day after Labor Day, some voters may prefer to vote by mail or to vote early, especially if they have children going back to school that day,” Galvin said. “The early voting period gives you the chance to vote on whichever day you prefer, at your convenience.”
Voters who applied to vote by mail, but have not yet returned a ballot can still vote in person, if they wish. Those who have already returned their mail-in ballot will be marked off on the voting list and will not be able to vote again.
Anyone not yet registered must do so by Saturday in order to be eligible to vote in the State Primaries. Local election offices will offer in-person voter registration sessions until 5 p.m. Saturday, while online voter registrations must be submitted by 11:59 p.m.
