While not as colorful or chaotic as the famous "Allston Christmas" -- the nickname for the seasonal streetscape that usually accompanies the return of college students to that Boston neighborhood -- the repopulation of the Dean Campus has brought minor traffic snarls but also smiles.
And, a robust welcome, notably from the Franklin United Methodist Church, which posted a large "Welcome Bulldogs" to help students better connect with the Franklin that lies outside of the campus.
The adjacent Franklin Historical Museum followed suit, offering up a small "Welcome Dean" Signboard near the sidewalk.
And, no doubt local retailers and restauranteurs are also happy to see renewed foot traffic coming from campus.
Not far off is Homecoming, which is slated for Oct 25-27 and usually brings out students, families, and other with Dean connections.
