Superintendent Armand Pires has announced that Medway Public Schools held its annual Convocation to open the 2024-2025 school year on Wednesday, Aug. 28.
Convocation is a meeting held each year to bring the district together in celebration before the start of school. Plans for the year are shared with staff and faculty, and staff achievements are recognized.
Medway students performed choral and band arrangements to kick off the session, including an instrumental performance of the national anthem, choral arrangements of "How Far I'll Go" from Disney's "Moana" and "This is Me" from "The Greatest Showman."
“The song 'How Far I’ll Go' speaks to me as a message from our students about their hopes and aspirations in the coming year, and the power that we all have in this room, regardless of role, to help those dreams come true,” Superintendent Pires said.“We all have the power to change the lives of our students, and I wish the Medway School community an incredibly successful 2024-2025 school year-- I know it will be exceptional.”
