Program Tackles Food Waste

On Thursday, September 12, 2024, the Franklin Food Pantry will offer a free, special Hunger Action Month special event “Wasted Food, Hunger, and the Climate Emergency: How Food Recovery Helps.”

Liz Miller of Spoonfuls, a Massachusetts-based food recovery organization, will present on how collecting fresh, edible food that would otherwise go to waste, and distributing it to social service agencies like The Pantry can help address food insecurity and the climate crisis.
